Understanding Dental Cupping on Molars: Causes, Prevention, and Treatment
Welcome to the St. Lawrence Dentistry blog! Today, we’re exploring an important topic that might be affecting your oral health:...
Allan Hawryluk Jr. is a Mississauga-based dentist who has built a reputation for comprehensive dental care. Born and raised in Port Credit, he returned after completing his dental residency in 2003 at the University of Colorado, Denver Health Sciences Center. He feels privileged to serve the community and is committed to maintaining our clinic standards set by his late father - Dr. Allan R. Hawryluk (Sr).
Expounding his philosophies, experience, and expertise, Dr. Hawryluk Jr. is on the advisory committee for Science of Implants - an educational organization that provides dentists training to improve their diagnostic skills, increase clinical efficacy and help promote predictable treatment results. He believes that improving his patient's oral health through conservative dental techniques has a positive and powerful impact on their overall appearance and self-confidence. Dr. Hawryluk Jr.'s goal is to make your dentist's experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. He feels that beautiful, natural-looking smiles are within reach of all adults by providing affordable patient care.
Dr. Hawryluk Jr. is grateful for the knowledge and training from his father, Allan Sr., and is committed to continuing his education. He enjoys researching and implementing the most current materials, technology, and treatment options by studying at the world's most prominent dental institutes—including the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, the Hebel Implant Training Center, and the L. D. Pankey Institute and the PST Academy. In addition, he is a former team dentist for the Toronto Marlies hockey team and served as the assistant team dentist for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Dr. Hawryluk Jr. works with our team of board-certified medical anesthesiologists to solve any dental-medico issues of our patients. In addition, to ensure the highest quality and accuracy in confined working conditions, Dr. Hawryluk frequently performs dental procedures with the global dental operating microscope.
Dr. Steven Mastropole (a.k.a. Dr. Steve) is our most recent addition to St. Lawrence Dentistry. A New Jersey native, he moved to Toronto in 2018 to be closer to his wife and her family. As a graduate of Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry, he won multiple awards and honors, including being the most outstanding student and membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental society.
Dr. Steve is very passionate about continuing his dental education and is an active member of the "Spear Academy" and the "Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club". He enjoys sharing his experiences and learning from his colleagues - including his loving wife, a dentist in training to become a pediatric specialist. In addition to being an avid learner, Dr. Steve loves to educate and have open conversations with his patients to ensure that every decision and every action taken is well-informed and thoroughly understood.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Steve is a huge basketball fan. He plays pickup basketball weekly at his local gym and closely follows the NBA. As of 2020, Dr. Steve has proudly taken the position of team dentist for the Raptors 905. When he's not playing or watching basketball, he enjoys visiting local pizzerias, spending time outdoors, and cooking.
Dr. Steve has worked across Ontario and is proud to say he has met incredible people from all walks of life. Nothing brings him more satisfaction than developing genuine and honest relationships with his patients. His mission is to provide the highest quality dental care while ensuring you are relaxed and comfortable. He loves hearing stories from his patients and embracing the friendship and trust that follows.
Dr. Steve joined St. Lawrence Dentistry in February 2020, forming an immediate bond with the Hawryluks. Dr. Steve was blessed with the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Hawryluk Sr. for two years. He and Dr. Hawryluk Sr. share similar philosophies and passions within the field of dentistry, and he is honored to help continue his legacy.

Dr. Hawryluk Sr. was hardworking, strong, and gentle. We learned many important lessons from him, and he is irreplaceable. He loved coming to the office he built and enjoyed his strong connection with others. He was a gentleman and professional, and it was an honor to learn from and work with him. We will honor his legacy by keeping his office the way he would want.
Allan Sr. showed strength right until the end. He worked his last week and told Allan Jr. he wanted to keep coming to the office as long as possible simply because he wanted to help.
